February 20 2017 - Family Day Little Library Hunting in Wychwood

  • Family Day outting
  • Fantastic weather - sunny and warm
  • 11 Fabulous Little Libraries
  • French bakery break
253 Boon
Boon

The Boon box used Little Free Libraries stickers
to mark each of the books.
Good idea.

Signed the guest notepad.
Left a Walking Sisters booklet.
21 Appleton
Appleton

An interesting book cover in the Appleton little library.

9 Mt Royal
Mt Royal

Stopped in at the Alcoa Portuguese Bakery on Davenport.
Picked up some Portuguese scones - Bolos Levedos.

187 Rushton
Rushton.
Nice barn shaped Little Library.

78 Tyrrel
Tyrrel.
Stumbled upon this one on the way to another
Little Library about 5 houses down the street.
The other Little Free Library within view.

66 Tyrell
Tyrell.
Full Nelson #31 zine inside.

123 Tyrell
Our map said there was another one on Tyrrel
so we backtracked to it. Glad we did.

112 Braemore Gardens
Fried Green Tomatoes.
One of us never watched the movie,
which was a surprise to the other sister.

61 Helena
Helena
Stumbled on this one. It was not on our map.

The house across the street from the Helena Library.
So colourful - blue, red, yellow.

17 Ellsworth
Ellsworth

Oh look, a book about coffee! Not.

From Ellsworth we made our way over to Bathurst and
found a favourite ice cream store - Dutch Dreams. It had
closed down but it's back in business. Except not today. :(
Another reason to return to the area.

We liked the name of this laneway.
Tragic story though.

For a break, we stopped off at a French bakery: Pain Perdu, ,
for coffee and florentine cookies (lightly sweet sliced almonds).
Great service. The french food menu looked very good but we didn't stop for lunch.
(Surprisingly, I forgot to take a picture).

Cute totem pole of cans in Roseneath Park

Designed by Toronto artist and sculptor Alex Moyle. Behind Oakwood Collegiate.
It sits on a three-meter-high stand and reaches a height of six meters.
The well-treed enclave is an ideal location for the urban bird looking for a place to call home.

On the way back to the car
we noticed this Espresso Bar on Davenport.
Went in to have a look. Really nice little shop.
We were still full from lunch so didn't stay but it's yet
another reason to return to the area.
The dog in the photo is a lovely
long-haired german shepherd puppy.

The Western House
We stumbled upon this house.
It's on our Weird House Tour map but we never got to it last year.
It's near Dufferin on Regal Road.
Cute 'Kids Playing' sign on Springmount Avenue

68 Yarrow

Then one last one on the way home
near Eglinton and Keele

I absolutely adore your project with walking different neighbourhoods + the little free libraries! I have three in my neighbourhood + love dropping off books + seeing what's new every few days. I found your tiny notebook today. What a delight! Thank you!

My apologies for the late reply. I'm new at this Blogger thing and didn't realize there were comments waiting in queue. How excited though to see your February comment. We are so happy that you like the booklet. We'll keep leaving them in Little Libraries. :)
