February 18 2017 - Exploring Etobicoke Lakeshore for Little Libraries

Toronto Lakeshore map
  • Amazing February weather +12C, sunny!
  • We set a record for most steps (see FitBit photo at the bottom of the page)
  • We set out to find 4 little libraries, we found 5
  • Met a 14 year old Brittany spaniel 3 times - we were accidentally walking in circles

Tim Horton's on the Humber Campus

Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil
at the garden by Tim's

Stumbled upon this nice hanging Little Library
on 33rd Street. First hanging Little Library
we've found.

Saw an interesting little house on 28th street
with lots of artsy pieces in the front garden,
including this pole with a grumpy face

And this amused face pole

This pug window at a
house on 25th street was
funny

We really liked this decorated house with
a funky little library.
There was a group of people Little Library hunting
as we approached.
It was fun comparing notes.
They said there was a LL on 26th Street
but we didn't have time to head over there.
Next time.

A better shot of the 27th Street Little Library.
Quite artsy.

Inside the library was a
bulletin board for tacking notes

Attached to a stepping stool stand instead of a pole

Closer view of the house with
interesting pieces added

This is a large owl by the garage.
It glistens in the sunlight.

The owl, and several other pieces (birds, butterfly)
are mosaics

Tatsu's Bread Bakery on Lakeshore
At 10,000 steps we stopped to grab a sandwich.
Ate the tasty brie sandwiches across the street
on the Humber Campus.

Tatsu's Bread
on Lakeshore and 19th Street

A cute painted hydro box at
Lakeshore and 10th Street

Little Library on 6th Street

First indoor Little Free Library
we've visited. It is inside a health food
store on Lakeshore. Strictly health
food style books.

The Big Gy's Little Coffee Shop
Finally, lattes
on Lakeshore and 5th Street

From the coffee shop it was almost 30 streets back to the car.
We had nice walk along the lake on the Waterfront Trail
and through Colonel Samuel Smith Park.

Back at the car we checked the numbers.
22,302 steps.

14.65 kilometres
